Unfurnished ships? Nahh I prefer furnished ships.

I'm working on the promenade of the cruise ship. I do have a ship I'm using for reference but hopefully it won't be too obvious. In any case, I need to furnish a lounge. This is an issue.

What is the visual style of Cruise of Virtue?

Of course, I'm going for a retro look. I feel "Retro" graphics are overdone at this point, with "Retro" acting as an excuse for ugly low poly models. However, there's a low barrier of entry, and its far easier and cheaper to model and even texture low poly models. For example, Behold my chair!

I think an important quality to aim for is the attempt to not look low poly. This gives a more authentic retro feel, and I will attempt to keep this in mind while doing all modeling and texturing for the game.

You may have noticed I deviated from this when texturing the bow. I did not use a texture for the actual front of the ship. This is because I'm stupid. How do you texture something specially created to have no texture? Idk. I also did this for the bottles in the icon for this post. They are simply low saturation colors. The reference image was colored frosted glass. How do I do that? No clue. I still have a lot to learn.

Thanks for reading! I know this was a bit of a short post, but an update on the promenade will come out as soon as everything is ready. If you know how to make the aforementioned uniform textures better, leave a ccomment! I need feedback so I can make the game the best it can be! Otherwise, to see future updates, subscribe to Youtube.com/BraedensStuff. It doesn't cost anything, and it definitely boosts my morale.
